Moving on

Well, I am giving up on the roses for now.  I will come back to them after I do a few more paintings.
The Bird of Paradise is my most recent.  I need to organize the studio then, on to something else.
Peace!

I am working on yet another rose.  This one from my brother's pasadena garden.
I bought 140 pound hot pressed paper and I am using all transparent colors.
The new printer I bought doesn't have a slot for my sd card, so I will post pics when I hunt down my USB cable.

Off to the Panther game today.  Going to do a little tailgating. Should be fun.
Peace.

Roses....

Ok, so I am beginning to understand the process of painting roses...I still don't like it, but that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or so I've heard. I am going back to the drawing board with this one. This time I will take better care with my drawing and have a little more patience while painting.

Another thing that occured to me is that I need to be using all transparent paint.
Time to go shopping - but for now, I'm gonna go put my toes in the water....
See ya at the lake!

Roses again....

I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it.
Pablo Picasso

Ok I don't like the first (10) roses.  I am going to try another.  I will post as soon as I am finished.

OK The Tres yellow Tulips are almost done. Now I have to paint the rose.
I am challenging myself and already making excuses...laundry, gardening, etc.
I will post progress pics when I get started.

Roses

I have always been afraid of roses.
Roses hold such intense meanings.
Each color has a meaning.
The number of roses in a bunch holds meaning.
Such symbolism for a flower.

I have been painting roses these last two weeks.
Even in my sleep.
And when I am dreaming, I think I have it down, only to awake and find, once again...
I can't.

So, I went back to tulips yesterday.
But when I am done, with this painting I will conquer the rose.

Feels like fall in the air. Summer was hot! Ready to get painting and organizing.
So much good watercolor instruction on the web, would still like to take a class somewhere around here. I think I will start a Wednesday night painting group.

Art-

Finally, an art store in my town. No more hour drives to buy a number two paintbrush.
Donna Downey has a studio - with classes and drop ins! Yea! If I really needed to I could walk over there.

Working on my Journal Journey "travel" for Roses on My Table. Don't like the first one I did, 'Rome flowers'. Maybe I will scan and manipulate!! I started another, still don't like it....o well.

Today, is a good day.
